The day after we came home from the Rose Bowl… I had my 8 week confirm your baby appointment.. baby heart rate was 168 - definitely thinking another girl!!
On to the gall bladder. For the past 3 weeks I'd been having pain off and on… pain that I didn't have with my previous pregnancies. I was also cold with chills quite often too. Well this all came to a head on January 4. I suddenly had terrible chills… body wracking chills. I couldn't stop shaking. Then I started throwing up and lost feeling in my hands and feet. I had Marc take me to the emergency room… not having any idea what was wrong. After a forever wait in the emergency room they finally took me back and basically treated me for the flu. When the doctor was ready to send me home, I told him I had pain at the top part of my stomach…. and that it hurt to take a deep breath. He was ready to send me home, but agreed to an ultrasound bc it could be my gallbladder. While waiting for the ultrasound at midnight, I googled the symptoms and had most all of them.
* chills
* fever
* pain in my right shoulder blade (organs don't feel pain so it is referred somewhere)
* pain in my upper abdomen
* nausea
* vomiting
* felt very full
Finally, after 2 days in the hospital… they finally decided the infection of my gall bladder wasn't going to go away and surgery was needed. (They wanted to avoid surgery b/c of the pregnancy). 4 days later, I was finally free of the hospital.
