While we were back in Pella for Christmas, Maree got to experience her first snow! Living in Arizona made it hard to even FIND winter clothing - we don't even own a coat for her. I ended up borrowing a snow suit from a friend... but forgot that Maree is off the charts tall for her age.. and this outfit made it pretty impossible to move - at least it covered her somewhat! Finding a hat and mittens took 3 different stores, but we finally found some at old navy on sale for 99 cents.. obviously not many people here are trying to buy winter hats!
After packing all this snow gear (I really feel spoiled that I never have to worry about bundling up my kid when I leave the house.. it takes SO much time than I would have thought) we finally put it to use! Maree could hardly keep her boots on as she walked, the mittens kept coming off, but she didn't even seem to mind - she just would plop down and look at us like "what am I supposed to be doing?"
We stayed out probably all of 15 minutes before I felt like we were all cold enough to go inside. Unfortunately, the next day Maree woke up sick... I'm sure that cold air didn't help her, but boy was it a fun 15 minutes :)

I love that first picture! Snow is so fun!!
ReplyDeleteYes. I agree with Brady!! I remember our fun days as young children frolicking carelessly about in the soft comfort of a freshly fallen snow. I get the warm fuzzies just thinking about it. No doubt my tall tiny little huge neice will have fond memories of the occasional romp in God's dandruff. Fun times, fun times.
