Birthdays

April 1st marked my 29th birthday...and wow, I remember when I thought 29 was so old... and here I am, feeling so young, and that it is impossible that I'm so close to 30.  Granted, I can only imagine how impossible it must seem for my parents. AND, I know that in a blink of an eye, Maree will be there too.  I wanted to list all the things I've enjoyed during my 20s, but Marc insisted I wait until I'm officially 30 before I can reflect on this decade.  I think I was just hoping to just jump over this next birthday and list what I liked, but I suppose I'll wait until next April...

For my birthday, I was lucky enough to spend it with family! My in-laws were all in town and we went to a fabulous dinner...  nothing is better than family, great food, & a few cocktails - and having your baby be asleep once you get home! Here are a few pictures from that night:

My favorite dessert - Butter Cake!
The family
Yes, I enjoyed a few martinis...

Someone else had a birthday this month too!! I didn't realize it at the time, but if I would have had Maree one day earlier.. we would have been exactly 6 months apart! While Maree didn't get to celebrate with a butter cake or a nice dinner... she did get to have a nice milk cocktail and some carrots - yummy!

So at 6 months, Maree is busy rolling and belly crawling/scooting everywhere... I think our coffee table will soon be devoid of "pretties" & the rest of the house baby proofed.  Her favorite toys are actually mommy & daddy's favorite toys too... She always wants Marc's remote control or cell phone, and she always tries to eat my kindle - such a funny girl.  Here are her 6 month pictures:

Starting to "lean" out -  19lbs & 28.5"... still wearing 12 month clothing!

This picture just cracks me up..

  2. Yes time goes so quickly. You will turn around and Maree will be grown. There is, however, deep satifaction in seeing your children grow up and lead responsible lives. I am so proud of the woman you are!! Love, Mom

Wish I could have a bite of butter cake with you!
