Maree's Birthday Party

Maree's birthday week started off with a "mini party" so that Grandpa Russ and Uncle Matt could help her celebrate.  We had a couple balloons to help with festivities.. and this was definitely a hit!!

When I ask her to smile.. this is usually the one I get for pictures.  I say show me your "pretty smile"… this is obviously her interpretation.

Happy Birthday Maree!

How many adults does it take to put it together??

A party wouldn't be complete without getting to hang out in the back of a truck!

Maree's actual birthday started off with her deciding she needed to sleep beside me… silly girl.

After getting up and ready, I decided I would try to brave Dunkin Donuts by myself with the girls… and they actually did pretty well and definitely enjoyed eating some sugary goodness.

We then continued on to dance class where they danced and sang happy birthday to her and she was in heaven with all the attention. But on our way home from dance, I noticed Ellie looking glassy eyed and nodding in and out of sleep… by the time we got home she was full blown sick and would cry if I didn't hold her. Thank goodness for nap time though, I still had a birthday cake to make and decorations to put up!

Maree's friend Marlie was so sweet and brought Maree a present to dance class-  Sleeping Beauty toys and a nightgown!!

Poor peanut

Not the most glamorous cake.. but Maree LOVES sprinkles… and she got lots of them.

I wanted to get some pictures of Maree with her birthday decorations…  but she also woke up from nap
with a cold and was not having it with pictures

Of course I kept trying….

Thank goodness her prince came home to help her calm down & then she struck the regal queen pose

And he even managed to help get a small smile out of her

I accidentally got trick candles… was so worried she was going to light her hair on fire!

Unwrapping the first present
And after opening it, she wanted nothing to do with her other gifts… so nice work Anna, Caylee and Jordynn!!

The other awesome gift Maree got was a bike!  Everyone told me not to get her one because she wouldn't know how to ride it… it would be too big for her etc.  And then the opposite happened….she loved riding it and I think I should have gotten her the next size up! Oh well, it will get lots of use I'm sure!  I didn't get any pictures of her on it the actual day of her birthday, only videos… but now that the weather is finally cooling down I'm sure we'll be using this bike a lot

Poor Ellie was a trooper… but she was glad when it was all done and she could just lay on daddy

Lastly, on Friday, Maree took birthday treats to class.  When Pam Gude came to watch the kids a few weeks ago, she helped make these spider treats.  Maree was very excited to show her teacher Miss Tracy…. but of course, when the camera came out, she wasn't so excited.
