Baby #3 over view.

Baby #3 was certainly a surprise to me!!  Such a surprise that I didn't even tell Marc I was taking a pregnancy test… I was sure it would be negative, but wanted to rule it out before I went to a doctor for something being wrong.  I wasn't even finished going to the bathroom and the positive sign showed up.  Talk about shocked!!

I've learned that my placenta is in the front… and apparently that means that the c-section is much more "emergency" type because of all the blood and cutting through that to get to you. yuck.  Glad I won't be able to see it!  It also meant that it took me until 19 weeks to feel any sort of fluttering or kicks.  Now at 25 weeks… your kicks are only on the sides of my belly!

Quick recap of pregnancy this far:
My first trimester was rough. I've never had cramping at the beginning of pregnancy, so that was entirely a new thing for me… and also made me nervous something was wrong.  At 5 weeks I had a lot of pressure/pain that was from a cyst rupturing… but it did allow me to see you in your cellular stage because they did an ultrasound and saw you were where you should be!! At 6 weeks, I had such intense pain on my right side, following by spotting, I was sure I either had appendicitis or that I was miscarrying… but since we were home for Christmas, I opted to let things run their course.  Turns out, that even then, my gall bladder was sick! (Gall bladder posting - see January)

Second Trimester has definitely been smoother! My main complaints have been back pain and heart burn.  I slowly was able to start eating foods that I used to enjoy.. but anything with too much fat/sugar my body doesn't seem to know how to handle it that well. McDonalds is the main one that still really bothers me.  Although Ice cream, pizza, hamburger etc. are still a little shaky! I feel like I'm steadily getting bigger, but have never had a pregnancy where so many people tell me how tiny I am???  It does make me nervous that I'm doing something wrong, or that perhaps you aren't growing as much as you should… but at every appt you are measuring bigger than the week I'm at.. so I think you're growing fine :)

At 20 weeks we learned the gender.  And for the first 17 weeks I was POSITIVE you were a girl… then I started wavering the last 3 weeks and was thinking boy.   After pouring our cocktails (See birthday post) I'm so excited to be adding a 3rd baby girl to our family!!

At 25 weeks I was still able to get into and button my regular jeans… I'm still not even sure how.  I also don't know what to make of my weight.  If i go by my starting weight, then I have gained 6 pounds at this point. If I go from my lowest point (After surgery/not eating) then I've gained 14.  Also at 25 weeks  I was shocked to learn you're measuring 27.5 weeks!!!  AND.  I also learned I have a belly button hernia that will most likely require a separate surgery. Ugh.  This week you also had your first trip to Iowa :)

I can't decide if I feel like this pregnancy is going by fast or slow.  The fact that most all my friends are due before me makes me feel like its going slow bc they hit week markers faster than me!

Aunt Tara is due June 23
Mckinsie is due June 30
Mommy is due Aug. 12
Sara is due Sept. 15

All so close together!
