Our Crazy Life

I don't even know where to begin with the craziness that I feel is currently our life... Last week I got a phone call that the people who were supposed to close on our house in 10 days... were backing out (denied financing).  Our agent proceeded to tell me that I needed to have the house ready to "show" again in 3 hours.  Keep in mind because we were going to be moving in 10 days, I had half of the house boxed up & it was a disaster.  God was surely looking out for us though, because Maree slept those 3 hours and it allowed me to get the house presentable, and then after two showings that same day, another buyer put in a full price offer.  In those 6 hours, I think I experienced every emotion possible.

That same week, Marc's car decided to break down... so we've been sharing 1 vehicle. NOT fun.  On top of trying to get this house packed, I've been trying to go look at/test drive new vehicles because Marc wants my jeep... and me to find a new vehicle with a 3rd passenger row since all the company we have during the winter never fits into 1 car.

Then, this last weekend before we move, Marc went for 4 days to Florida to have a football weekend - I'm glad he got to have a "guys trip," but the timing wasn't great.

Now this week, I'm struggling with leaving the only house I've known here in Arizona.  I know our new house will be beautiful, but it is still hard to leave these memories behind.  The construction projects we have going on at the new house will not be done by Friday (our moving day) and I am trying not to stress about that... but knowing that nails/debris/dust will be everywhere has me very nervous about Maree.  I literally won't be able to take my eyes off of her because she's my little lint finder.  If ANYTHING is on the floor, she finds it & puts it in her mouth.  I can't even begin to describe all that I have finger scooped out of her mouth - rocks, fuzz balls, paper, gum wrappers... etc.  This is definitely a time when I wish I had family around, so I could take her there while I attempt to get the new house organized.

Lastly, 5 days after we move in, I will turn around and  fly home for 10 days.  I hate leaving a mess behind, but hopefully it will allow for the kitchen/granite/backsplash to get finished in that time.  I'm definitely ready for my life slow down... if you think of it this week.. prayers would definitely be appreciated!!

Here are a few more "in progress" photos -- how this house will be "liveable" by FRIDAY, I do not know:

Master Bath without upper cabinets/closet doors
Master Bath shower

Kitchen without the island in place

other side of the kitchen

Although we have been busy, we are squeezing in some play dates
to the park with that is right behind our new house!

  1. Oh my sounds like my life story! Selling a house is such a pain. I'm so happy that you got another buyer. We have had two couples back out and have our 3 rd offer now, just waiting to finalize inspections. I can't wait to see you and for you to have time to relax!
